  • Michael Thomas Garstecki of Hot Springs Village, passed away June 10, 2018. He was born December 21, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to Leonard and Florence Garstecki.

    Michael is survived by his wife of 51 ½ years, Darlene; Children: Jennifer Lucas, Jeffrey Garstecki and Julia Derkovitz (Christopher), Grandchildren; Jessica Lucas, Trey Lucas, Andrew Derkovitz and Stephanie Derkovitz. Brother; David Garstecki. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

    Michael was a member of the Men’s Cooking Club, past member of Wood Workers, Active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and an Active Member of the Knights of Columbus. Michael worked for Chrysler for 35 years and his last position was as comptroller of Chrysler parts and service. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, traveling, golfing, reading and gardening.

    A Rosary will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Mass following at 11:00 with Father Bill Elsner officiating. Interment will be at CedarVale Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, please made donations to Arkansas Hospice and Make a Wish Foundation.

    Mike was one of my best memories from my time at Chrysler in Detroit. He was a great guy, quick with a smile and a helping hand. You have my deepest condolences for your loss... He was a good man and will be missed in this world..
